In between one of the largest underwater volcanic rims and a lush Costa Rican national forest is where you can find me!! Kayaking around looking for a ZINGER on my line…
As you will see in this video, we fished near a massive rock formation created by the expired volcanic activity from many years ago. My bait was nervous, I was a bit nervous, but my instincts told me it was a good spot. Yet, my instincts were slightly off and we didn’t catch anything for about an hour and a half. This is where PATIENCE as an angler comes into play heavily.
We came across some locals out on the water as well who pointed us about 250 yds in a different direction and tipped us on some good baits to use. Next thing you know, WE WERE ON ‘EM!! Caught 2 good size roosterfish and fished around for some other species while taking in the absolute beauty of the Costa Rican shoreline. When we got back beach-side, some other friendly locals instructed us where to cast out… 2/2 great recommendations this day as we caught 3 more roosterfish and some other small fish. THANK YOU, to whoever you all were!
Fishing bonds people together through experience, story telling, and all of the other distinct aspects of being an angler. I hope to give great advice back to an angler who needs it in the near future!
Have you ever caught a Roosterfish?? If not, I highly recommend it so add it to your species bucketlist! Drop a comment and let me know what else you have on that list… ⬇️
